Oberlin College Bosworth Parking Lot

Corrective repairs to its project were determined by our discovery that the original sub-base was not properly prepared, contributing to the moisture content of the sub-grade soil causing it to be in the 22% to 26% range, which is optimum. This trapped moisture caused the asphalt to heave during the freeze/thaw cycle and ultimately shortened the life of the surface asphalt.
